Ubuntu Girls
The Ubuntu Girls are icons of female empowerment. They are a reminder to us that women are all unique and special and at the same time connected to a sisterhood filled with great diversity. While each woman is blessed with her own unique gifts and the drive to embrace and cultivate these gifts, she is still connected to her sisters, supporting them and lifting them up.
OG Ubuntu Girls
When I began painting, I soon found my voice while painting pictures of mothers and their children. The more I painted, the more in touch I became with my soul. I became more open and expressive and empowered and became more driven by the force of love. As I evolved as a human being, my art reflected this evolution—thus came the birth of the Ubuntu Girls. The Ubuntu Girls represent a feminine yet powerful force of love, self-respect, and unity, and stand by the philosophy that “We are all in this together, girl!”
Motherhood
When I began painting, my children were just 4 and 5 years old, and my greatest identity to date was being their Mommy. The moment I picked up the brush in 2015, something was ignited in my soul, and I felt compelled to paint any random image that I would find on the Internet. Six months into this journey, I stumbled upon and painted my first mother child painting, and THAT’S when I discovered my voice. With every painting, I saw my children. I saw myself. I saw love. And I just couldn’t stop. When you view any of these paintings, you are experiencing a precious moment deep within my soul.
Spirituality
I’ve always seen the world with relative clarity and have had a pretty solid understanding of people’s intentions and motivations. However, once I began to paint my truth, live more authentically, and align my life choices with my soul’s purpose did my intuition begin to flourish. One might even say that stroke-by-stroke, I’ve painted my soul into alignment.
Animals
Painting women is undeniably my home run swing; however, painting animals brings me so much joy. To commune with an animal is to truly connect on a soul-to-soul level. When doing so we are able to feel love in its purest sense. My hope is that you can feel it too.
