Ubuntu Girls

The Ubuntu Girls are icons of female empowerment. They are a reminder to us that women are all unique and special and at the same time connected to a sisterhood filled with great diversity. While each woman is blessed with her own unique gifts and the drive to embrace and cultivate these gifts, she is still connected to her sisters, supporting them and lifting them up.

Dana
People often ask me which of my paintings is of me. My response is always that they are all of me. Dana, however, is named after me because, although as a woman, I have many facets and play many roles, at the end of the day, THIS is how I choose to see myself—bold, bare, and beautiful. I’m Dana.

Original Artwork by Dana Sardano | 30” x 24” | SOLD

Dirty
She averts her gaze with coyness and postures herself with grace. However, it is always the lens of our perception that dictates whether we find her presentation of self enticing or just plain Dirty.

Chloe 2.0
While on my own personal journey of self-rediscovery, I had an experience where a buried aspect of myself came to the forefront of my consciousness. This aspect of unbridled joy, empowerment, and exuberance had lain dormant for many years, and in my mind’s eye, this is what she looks like. Although, I initially had a different vision for the cover of my book, Ten Recommandments for Personal Empowerment, Chloe (which is how she introduced herself) became the obvious cover girl. True to form, Chloe also asked for a little pizzaz while I was creating her, so I punched her up with some crystals. I chose kyanite, selenite, and hematite because they embody all the emotional  components that Chloe exemplifies. Kyanite represents the throat and third eye chakras allowing her to see clearly and speak her truth. Hematite grounds, protects, and empowers while selenite connects her with universal wisdom, love, and intelligence. Now that Chloe has been released, she ain’t never going back!
